Faculty mentors at Brigham Young University were Mark Hamilton, Ph.D., Professor of Art and Architecture History; and Alex Darais, Professor of Design.  Faculty mentors at the University of Utah Graduate School of Architecture were Gordon Hashimoto, AIA; Carl Inowy, AIA; Kazuo Matsubayashi, AIA;  and John Sugden, FAIA, former protege of Ludwig Mies Van Der Rohe.
